the ancient irish

Standing 6'2" tall,  Ciarán has black hair and cerulean blue eyes that have a black rim around the iris. He has the tattoo of a seahorse etched on his left hip, whose tail continues down his thigh in a series of spirals and knots. Another tattoo of a hound is etched on his left shoulder and upper arm. On his right side, the tattoo of a snake coils around his forearm, its head in his palm, while a band circles his upper arm and a series of spirals covers his left thigh. His right cheek bears a small triskele with a line drawn through it, the sign of his lost priesthood.

Aodhán is Ciarán's paternal twin. Just about the same height, his hair is a tawny color, with gentle waves, though his eyes are the same cerulean blue as his brother's. While he has the coiled snake and band on his right arm, a salmon adorns his left hip and and eagle covers his shoulder and upper arm. He, too, has the cancelled triskele on his right cheek.  Like his twin brother, his eyes flash silver when he gets angry.

Aisling is petite, standing about 5'3" tall, with dark eyes and chestnut hair that falls in gentle waves around her shoulders. 

Domnall has gentle cerulean eyes that almost appear a crystal blue, with dark rims encircling the iris, much like those of his twin sons. His hair and beard are mostly a silver gray, though bits of his youthful color are still mixed in.

 Ruadhán has dark hazel eyes, appearing almost a greenish brown. His hair is mostly gray, but more white than silver. 

Bradaigh is tall, with large bones, giving him an overbearing appearance., but he lacks the attractive features of his brothers, his nose being slightly crooked and his eyes a dull gray that turn crystaline black when riled.

Órfhlaith's name means golden princess, and her features reflect it. Her hair is fair, the color of fresly cut wheat, and her eyes are as blue as the sky.  

Dáire has mousy brown hair that hangs lank and stringy, while his eyes are a washed out blue with thin lashes. He stands about 5'10" tall, but tends to be on the skinny side and seems to have a permanent sneer etched across his lips.   

Niall is Ciaran's second eldest brother and looks very much like Ciaran. He's tall with fair skin, jet black hair, and cerulean blue eyes. He also has a hound tattooed on his shoulder, but as he was guardian of the creatures of the sea, he has a salmon tattooed on his hip. He was fifteen years older than Ciarán when he won't in the tomb, but is still only about twenty-five when he wakes.

Standing only 5'0" tall, Caitlin is petite and pretty. Her green eyes change according to her mood from the deep green of a mistletoe leaf when she's upset or suspicious to a  bright emerald when she's happy. If she's angry or suspicious, they can also narrow into what her Uncle Mike calls reptilian slits. She has a sweet smile, with dimples that appear in her cheeks, particularly the right one, when she grins or when she gives her slips a suspicious twist. Ciarán describes her short auburn hair as the color of a soft autumn day. 

Daniel is rarely seen without his pipe, which he seems to fiddle with more than actually smoke. He is usually seen in a tweed jacket, his charcoal gray eyes sparkling with mischief, though they can appear stern if the situation calls for it. He has short white hair and a well trimmed beard of the same color.

Steve stands just an inch shorter than Ciarán, with light brown hair that just covers his collar. His eyes are intelligent and colored a brilliant golden hazel, with specks of gold mixed in.  

Sean has golden blond hair. He stands about 5'9" tall, with dark green eyes.

Father Mike is about 5'9" tall, the slightest bit overweight, though he wears it well. In fact, between that and his cheerful face, he always appears to be in a pleasant mood. He has silver gray hair and soft slate-blue eyes that reflect his sincere nature. 

Fater Dennis is tall and on the thinner side, though he couldn't be called skinny.  He has soft, sympathetic brown eyes, the color of dark maple syrup, that sparkle with mischief.  His hair is a medium brown, the cut leaning toward the fashion of the day, while still being on the shorter side. He's rarely found far from a book.   

Father Bill is about 5'6" tall, with sandy-hair on the longer side fashionable at the time. His eyes are a deep brown, though they lack Father MIke's understanding, reflecting instead his youthful innocence. 

Mary is the bossy but loveable housekeeper at the rectory.  She's raised five sons of her own, but though she tries to hide her affection for Ciarán and act tough, they all know she's virtually adopted him as another son. Her cobalt blue eyes are soft and gentle but can be stern when necessary, and she has a no-nonsense outlook on life. Her black hair is salted though with a good deal of silver running through the short permed hair.

An Irish version of Mary Monaghan, the owner of the local bed and breakfast, treats the archaeologists more like her family than guests, eagerly going above and beyond her duties as a B&B landlady.  On the shorter side, and a bit plump, she has a pleasant disposition, and wears her heavily graying dark brown hair in a bun. Her azure eyes are always seem to have a gentle smile in them. 

A pleasant looking man of medium height and build, he has caring, cornflower blue eyes and soft brown hair. 

Duffy's wife, she's a pretty, petite woman, with raven hair and fair skin. Her dazzling blue eyes have a dark rim around the iris and sparkle with mischief.

Timothy has his mother's black hair and dazzling blue eyes.

Kathleen has her father's cornflower blue eyes, though her hair is a lighter sandy blond color.

Patrick has his father's light brown hair, but his eyes are a dark honey brown shade. 

Brigid has her mother's stunnng blue eyes, though her hair is a golden blond with a hint of strawberry.

Doctor in St. Mary's Hospital in Castlebar. A tall handsome man, with brown hair and sparkling brown eyes. Sensible but fun-loving as well.

eeve and Detective Chief Inspector of the local Garda. Salt and pepper hair with pale blue eyes, he alternates between hardened detective and the charming rogue.

Dark red hair with cobalt blue eyes, she stand at 5 foot 4 inches tall and weighs a mere 8 stone (112 pounds). While she is a teacher in the lower grades, her greatest ambition in life is to have a family of her own. 

Ciarán's twentieth-century daughter looks much like her mother: mall and petite with auburn curls. She does have her father's cerulean blue eyes, however.
